Victorian Teak And Gilt Brass Campaign Shelves Attributed To Army & Navy C.S.L. - c.1880
A very smart and useful set of Victorian campaign shelves, dating to the late 19th century, of lovely rich colour and patination, with turned brass finials, column standards and cup feet.
These shelves will completely dismantle for travel, by unscrewing all of the threaded brass elements.
Several companies sold similar shelves, but these are stamped in various places with 6547 3, a catalogue reference number indicative of The Army And Navy Co-operative Society Ltd.
Condition:
These shelves would probably have had a decorative cresting rail along the top front edge originally, and two short locating dowels and a central hole remain. As the shelves are finished on both sides the top shelf could be flipped over to hide this. Otherwise lovely original untouched condition, and nice and strong. Ready to go.
Dimensions:
58.5 cm high x 81 cm wide x 20 cm deep.
