A fine Malloch’s Patent Sun & Planet 4 1/2" Brass & Ebonite geared salmon reel, with ebonite (an early plastic) back plate, blued brass face plate and ebonised handle, in its original block leather case. The reel has a 9 cm smooth brass foot.
Dimensions:
2 1/8” thick (excluding handle)
Condition:
Action stiff. Crack to back plate. Finish worn. Leather case moth eaten inside and with a couple of old worm holes externally. Owner’s initials (EBW) have been quite crudely cut into the top and inked over.
