A Japanese Marquetry 'Yosegi-Zaiku' Two Tier Table Or Etagere By Liberty & Co - c.1900

£0.00
Sold

A very stylish and rare Japanese marquetry (known as Yosegi - Zaiku) two tier occasional table or etagere, intricately inlaid all over with various geometric shapes and patterns, on four hexagonal supports with turned ebonised cupped feet and brass castors.

The lacquered underside of the table bears an ivorine plaque for Liberty & Co, London.

Much like the Moorish pieces that Liberty’s are known for, this table would probably have been made in Japan and imported to London.

We believe this table dates to around 1900.

Condition:

Lightly worn with a nice level of patination and no issues. There appears to be a replacement piece of veneer on the top which is only really evident if you look for it. Ready to go.

Dimensions:

88 cm high x 61 cm wide x 46 cm deep

Shipping not included. Please email me with your postcode for a shipping quote george@holtbyandco.uk
