An extraordinary pair of Regency birds eye maple open armchairs dating to around 1820, of lovely warm colour and sleek form - with curved backs, drop in seats covered in dark red wool fabric, turned arm supports and square tapered legs with brass and ceramic castors.

These chairs would appear to be loosely based on designs by Thomas Chippendale The Younger, specifically the Stourhead Picture Gallery satinwood armchairs, dated 1802.

Condition:

In good condition. Have had previous professional restoration work and as such the frames nice and tight with no movement. Very old wood worm holes visible in places. Ready to go.

Dimensions:

70 cm high (seat heights 40 cm) x 60 cm wide x 76 cm deep
