An opulent and comfortable pair of early 20th century Japanned lacquer cane bergere armchairs, decorated in gilt and coloured lacquer, each with a central scene to the back of an oriental figure, the rest with stylised leaves, flowers and other motifs, on cabriole front legs with claw and ball feet.
With their original very squishy and comfortable down filled cushions.
Stripped back to calico, ready for new top covers.

In good condition, with no damage to cane and good amount of wear and patination, particularly to the arms, which adds rather than detracts.
